Contact and how enquiries are handled
Contact Australian Website Design — the enquiry form isn't live yet — why, and how to reach the author in the meantime.
In short. There is no enquiry form on this site yet. Rather than showing one that posts nowhere, this page explains what is outstanding and what will exist when it ships. Enquiries reach the author directly; they are not passed to anyone.
There is no form here yet
An enquiry form needs somewhere to send an enquiry, and the endpoint that would receive one has not shipped. A form that posts into nothing loses the enquiry silently, which is the single most expensive failure a small business website can have, so there is not one.
When it ships it will do the following, and this page will be updated to say so:
- Validate your name, email and message through field validation applied on the same rules in the browser and on the server, so a failure is explained rather than swallowed
- Reject automated submissions without a challenge widget, using a hidden field and submission timing
- Record the moment the commercial disclosure was shown to you, and your consent to it, in the submitted record, so that compliance is auditable from the enquiry rather than from a screenshot of the page
- Store the enquiry as an append-only record, and notify the author by email
What is outstanding before it can
The processing region has to be decided. A serverless function of this kind runs in the United States by default, which means an enquiry would be transmitted to and stored there. Australian privacy obligations for small businesses are under active change and the site is being built to the stricter reading, so the choice is between naming the overseas processing prominently on the form or pinning the function to an Australian region. Both are legitimate; neither should be decided by whichever is easier to configure. This is set out in privacy.
Where the email enquiry goes when it does ship
To the author, and nowhere else. Enquiries made through this site are not sold, shared, syndicated to a supplier network, or passed to any other business. There is no referral arrangement behind this page — see commercial relationships.
Before you send a web design enquiry, read how a website quote is built up. The list of questions on that page is written to be put to any supplier, and it is a better use of a first email than a description of your business.
Access and correction requests
If you want to know what personal information is held about you, or want it corrected or deleted, that request will be handled through the same channel once it ships, marked as a privacy request. See privacy for what is and is not collected — which, while there is no form, is almost nothing.
