Privacy and how your information is handled

This privacy policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what happens to it — the same collection is described again, in short form, on the enquiry form itself. In short: what this site and its processors collect, hold, use and disclose is set out below, plainest terms first.

Who is responsible

What personal information this site collects when you read it

Nothing that identifies you.

No cookies are set. No analytics script runs. No advertising or social pixel is present. No font, script or image is loaded from a third-party domain, and the site’s content security policy blocks any attempt to add one, so this is a property of how the site is served rather than an assurance.

That is why there is no cookie banner on this site. There is nothing to consent to.

If a page needs to remember something about your visit — which page you came from before you reached an enquiry form, for instance — it is held in your browser’s session storage, is not sent anywhere by itself, and is discarded when you close the tab.

Your web hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP addresses, as a technical necessity of serving any website. Those are held by the hosting provider under its own terms.

What personal information is collected if you send an enquiry

Only what you type: your name, your email address, your phone number if you provide it, your message, and the fact that you acknowledged the commercial disclosure before submitting, with the time at which the disclosure was shown to you. This category of personal information is only collected from individuals who choose to submit an enquiry, not from every visitor who reads the site.

That last item exists so that compliance with consumer law can be audited from the record itself rather than from what a page happens to look like today.

No enquiry form is live on this site at the time of writing. When one is, the following applies and will be restated on the form.

Where an enquiry is processed, and Australian privacy obligations

An enquiry submitted here is handled by a serverless function. Functions of this kind run by default in the United States, which means your name, email address, phone number and message would be transmitted to, processed in and stored in the United States.

This is stated on the form itself, before you submit, not only on this page. Two things follow from it. First, information sent overseas is subject to the laws of the place it is processed. Second, Australian privacy obligations for small businesses are under active change, and this site is being built to the stricter reading rather than the current exemption. If the processing region changes, this page and the form will say so.

Who your personal information is disclosed to, or shared with

Your information is not sold, rented, traded or used for advertising. It is not disclosed to third parties for their own purposes, and is not added to a mailing list unless you separately ask to be.

How long it is kept

Enquiries are kept while there is a live conversation and for a reasonable period afterwards for business records. If you would like yours deleted, ask, and it will be.

Your rights: access, correction and deletion of personal information

You can ask what personal information this site or its hosting provider may hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. Send that request through contact.

Raising a complaint directly with this site first is usually faster than an external complaint, and is always an option regardless of anything else on this page. If you are not satisfied with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this page

If any of the above changes — particularly the processing region — this page will be updated and its update date will change with it. The date is shown at the foot of the page.
